Terms of service

These terms cover your use of Sung to You ("we", "us"), including ordering a song and opening one you were sent. By placing an order you agree to them.

What we make

Sung to You makes personalized songs as gifts. You answer questions about the person the song is for; we write lyrics from your answers, you review and approve them, and we record two versions of the song. You hear a 30-second preview of each before paying. After payment you choose a version and we deliver it by email or as a link to a gift page.

Songs are made with AI

Lyrics are written and songs are sung and produced by artificial intelligence models, based on the story you give us. Every song is labelled as AI-generated on its gift page. We do not imitate real artists, reproduce existing songs or use copyrighted lyrics, and we refuse stories that ask us to.

Prices and payment

A song costs $29 (US dollars), plus any sales tax shown at checkout. It is a one-time payment, not a subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Your song is unlocked when Stripe confirms the payment.

What you may put in a story

• Only what you have the right to share, about someone you know.
• Nothing hateful, harassing, sexual, or defamatory about a real person, and no requests to sound like a named artist or song.
• For songs for children, the child's first name only.

We screen stories and lyrics automatically and may review them by hand. We can decline or cancel an order that breaks these rules; if you already paid, we refund you.

Using your song

When you buy a song you may keep it forever and share it for personal, non-commercial purposes: play it, send it, post it and download it. You may not sell it, use it in advertising, or claim you or anyone else performed it. You keep ownership of the story you wrote; you let us use it to make and deliver your song.

Gift pages

Each gift page has an unguessable link. Anyone with the link can open it, so share it only with people you want to hear the song.

One free redo, then a full refund within 14 days of delivery. See the refund policy.

How we handle your information is described in our privacy policy.

Availability and liability

We work to keep Sung to You available and your songs safe, but the service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.
